When it comes to weddings, one of the most wonderful things a couple can do is to truly make the day their own. Focusing on special details throughout the day — and at times, turning your back on expected traditions — is exactly what KMarie and Bobby did.
KMarie and Bobby met at a holiday party on the 20th of December. In honor of this special date, they decided to host their wedding on the 20th of the month. “We got engaged on New Year’s Eve, and knew we wanted to get married on the 20th — and we didn’t want to get married around Christmastime — so we chose September 20th instead,” said KMarie.

The Attire

One of the most special details of their wedding day was the choice of attire. Specifically, in lieu of a traditional white wedding gown, KMarie selected an unconventional, yet stunning, haute couture romantic red tulle gown. Her stunning red dress popped against Bobby’s slate grey tux, designed by Alain Dupetit.

KMarie was determined to find the perfect red gown, but because bridal shops were closed due to the pandemic, she turned to Instagram to seek out a designer. She discovered Stephen Goudeau, who was able to perfectly capture her dream and bring her vision to life.

Their wedding day attire meant more to them than just looking good — it had a very special personal connection. “When we met, Bobby had on a gray suit, and I had on a red, two-piece outfit,” KMarie said, “We wanted to replicate that beautiful moment when we met and fell in love.”

Light of Love Theme

KMarie and Bobby hosted their wedding at The Barn. Their personal touches transformed the venue from floor to ceiling to embody their “Light of Love” theme. The couple opted out of traditional wedding flowers to adorn the venue with sparkling lights. The Barn was perfect, because of the lighted ceilings, which were further complemented by a light of the fire sculpture, lights wrapped around the oak trees, lighted centerpieces, and many other bright details. Additionally, a heartfelt memorial for their late mothers also had lighted details. “It was a great backdrop against a glam wedding vision,” said KMarie.

All of the wedding guests were asked to wear white, which made for a beautiful backdrop at the ceremony and venue. But more important than the attire, the decor, the dances, and the guests — weddings are about commitment and love. There was no shortage of that at KMarie and Bobby’s wedding. Love filled the room from floor to ceiling, and KMarie and Bobby have been on cloud nine ever since. “Everyday since the first day we met, we say upon waking, “I commit to you today”, and now we say “I commit to you today and forever,” said KMarie.
